Are the shelves removable? If I have a large item and want to take one of the shelves out; is that possible? What is the height between the shelves?

The spacing for the bottom to 1st shelf is 4.5", 1st shelf to 2nd shelf is 4.25", and 2nd shelf to top is 4.25". Please let us know if you require additional assistance at 1-800-823-8887.
