are the shelves just removable or adjustable? do the pegs they sit on able to be moved to adjust shelf heights? If so how far apart are the holes/inserts for those?

Thank you for your inquiry. Shelves are spaced as follows from top to first shelf 7" 1st shelf to 2nd shelf 5-3/4" 2nd shelf to 3rd shelf 5-3/4" 3rd shelf to bottom 5-1/4". These are not adjustable.
