Would it be possible to use brackets and a rod for hanging clothes on this unit? Is it constructed of strong enough material to hold that much weight? Thank you!

Thank you for your inquiry. This item is able to handle a hang rail set up. However the only hang rail bracket we carry for the slatwall will be for the round hang rails and the shortest of the hang rails in our stock is the exact measurement of this items length (48") so it would not fit between the two ends.
