Thank you for your inquiry. The steamers have a safety feature shut off, which means that if you accidentally leave it turned on, the fuse link will blow and shut the steamer off. This fuse link wire will then need to be replaced. This feature is not intended as an auto shut off like on your iron. It just protects you if you leave it on accidentally and it runs dry.
