Thank you for your inquiry. 3" on center is the measurement you obtain when you measure from the bottom of one slat to the bottom of the slat directly above. This will provide you with the on center measurement for your slatwall panels. The peg hooks do not clip/secure onto the slatwall panels; they do hook into the panel on the top with the bottom resting on the slat. Please let us know if you require any additional assistance.
