Is this a base that sits on a table or is it the base of the sign? Does this base need to sit on a metal table (because it magnetic? I want to display on a wooden table. I've order the stem and the acrylic sign holder.

Thank you for your inquiry. The Chrome 4" Magnetic Base for Stems would require a metal table or rack to adhere to in order to keep the sign upright. We do not currently offer a base that would be free standing for use with the build your own sign holders. Please let us know if you require any additional assistance.
