Thank you for your inquiry. The biggest differences between the J-4000 and J-2 are as follows:
a. The J-4000 has a three position switch--off preheat on with automatic shut off.
b. The J-4000 steamer can be left on preheat during working hours. When steam is desired it can be switched to on and steam is produced in a few seconds. The J-2 has only an on/off switch and takes a few minutes to produce steam.
c. The J-4000 boiler tank is built into the steamer. The J-2 has an external 1 gallon plastic jug. Both the J-2 and J-4000 produce the same amount of steam. Both the J-2 and the J-4000 use 1500 WATTS and plug into a standard 110/115 volt outlet. The steamers can be special ordered
to work off of 208/220 volts used in foreign countries. To request information regarding special ordering a steamer for your country please call or e-mail us at 800-823-8887 or contactus@storesupply.com. Thank you again, have a great day!
