Hello, The product description says that this is to be against the wall. Is it possible to stand on it's own, without a wall supporting it? (For example, could I place it in the middle of a room, and it not fall down?) Thanks so much.

Thank you for your inquiry. The Gondola Wall Units were designed to be placed against a wall for stability. The unit may remain standing without a wall supporting it, however it could easily tip over due to the lack of additional support provided by the wall.
